2007 - a warm Christmas

Tuesday, December 25, 2007

Last year's Christmas was a HOT one. a big gang of the present year 2s, rr, xy, nono, jl and i went to Marina Bay for a steamboat-bbq dinner. I could remember how smoky and hot that place on a crowded Christmas day. We then strolled all the way back from that stinky place to Marina Bay mrt station, filling the carefree journey with carols.

This year's Christmas was a WARM one. Just walked around a little, and then headed home for dinner.

Thinking about how excited i was about opening the gifts i received on Christmas day last time, i have to admit that i'm no longer a kid.
Opening gifts is no longer the prime reason for the excitement burning in me.

This Christmas just feels so different yet so meaningful. Although i'm now broke cuz of the presents i bought for my friends, i feel so happy for myself. I'm so happy that i'm able to give, that i'm able to share. I'm able to taste the joy of giving, the joy of true Christmas.
I dun care how broke i will be for the rest of this week, that's not the point. The point is that i'm happy, and everyone's happy. This happiness is different from what i've been feeling. If i were to describe it in terms of food, the past happiness i've been getting is like a big bowl of superior shark's fin - majestic and great. But now, i have a a cup of pudding - simple, delicate and savoury.
In my opinion, the joy of receiving is that of a bowl of superior shark's fin, and the joy of giving is that of a cup of pudding. Both brings happiness, but happiness of two different meanings. I would want to receive, who wouldn't? But if i can flavour my happiness with another element of joy, why not? That's why we buy gifts for one another (: we give, and we take.

&because i received, i want to thank you people for this wonderful Christmas :

Yea, i have to agree that i can sense the change in myself. This change just happens so naturally. I leave myself in the hands of God. Am i still changing? lol.
i am growing, and i will always grow.

I wish you A MERRY CHRISTMAS (:
