you enter the gym today and see some aunties cycling happily on stationary bikes. as usual they don't seem to summon enough charismatic aura to catch ur eye, so u just log ur name in at the counter and grab a absorbed-tons-of-sweat-by-other-pple-then-go-through-machine-wash towel, and proceed to the treadmill.

at the treadmill u see a buffed guy running at a faster-than-what-you-sprint pace, a layer of sweat coated over him that seemed to make him look a lil shiny, like a knight in his shining armour. you see one empty treadmill left beside him, and you know its gg to be pressurizing running beside him, although no matter how fast he run he will always be running at the same spot - beside you.

just as you stepped onto the treadmill that ' knight in his shining armour ' asked you to constantly check the distance he has covered
but that's not that point. just right at the last lap of running when he was putting all his energy and efforts into it, he still has the breath to ask a favour from you. wait, he had to repeat three times before u finally knew what he was trying to mean.
you can't turn down his request, so you offered to help and look at the electronic meter. ' 5.23 km..5.31..5.32..5.33...5.34.. ' and he finally pressed the stop button. you feel inferior towards that 3 digits, but thats not all. u saw four more numbers beside them, 24:59. yes, you know he completed 5.34 km in 25 minutes. that ' knight' then called a gym trainer to check his distance covered, and you know he topped the gym's challenge.

what more can you say? you humbly start your running, and your mind started to wander away thinking about 5.34km in 25 minutes. before you could continue wondering you realised that you have completed your 2.4km. right, so you get off that treadmill to continue with your other exercises, comforting yourself for completing 2.4 which everyone including juniors 4 years younger are capable of doing.
but dreads you see that 'knight' following his normal gym routine after that run. there's nth more you can really say or comment, so you went back to your exercises while craving for a humble pie at the same time, knowing that that's the only thing you can eat.
